TURN IT UP WITH GERRY CASEY
Gerry Casey has loved music for as long as he can remember. Having grown up on a dairy farm barely south of the Northern Ireland border he spent most of his youth listening to English radio stations and watching Top of the Pops. With money his mother Kathleen often sneakily stuffed into his pocket (unbeknownst to his father) young Gerry would walk down the record store and buy every piece of music he could.
Once he had collected all of the music the store had to offer, he would then order via mail the very latest albums which were delivered to his family's farm a week or more later. Tapping along to the tunes emanating from the record player, Gerry discovered at a young age that he also had a talent for keeping a beat. Circumstances being different I (Jessey) am convinced he could very easily have become the next Mick Fleetwood! (He would disagree... but he's not here while I am writing this) However being the 7th generation , Gerry was duty bound to take up the mantle of dairy farmer and thus set aside any musical ambitions he had.
A lifetime later his dreams of being involved in the industry are now being realised. Having been approached by German rock station Radio Home of Rock Gerry now hosts Turn it Up, his very own 4 hour music show. Carefully crafting playlists and interviewing local and international emerging artists, entertainment professionals and industry legends , Gerry weaves the perfect mix of genres and presents a veritable smorgasbord of talent each week. The show broadcasts worldwide every Tuesday 7:15pm Dublin time & the interviews are podcasted on the Radio Home of Rock Website. As an extra feather in his ever growing musical cap, Gerry is now the executive interviewer for internationally acclaimed Making a Scene Magazine and the chairman of the Harvest Blues Music Festival!
One this is for absolutely certain folks... The legendary tale of Gerry Casey's journey through the entertainment industry has only just begun... stay tuned!
